Ricky quite possibly would never have picked up a guitar or sang a song if it weren't for his late uncle Bus, who picked, sang & rambled with the likes of Jimmie Rodgers, The Carter Family and some of the early recording artists out of Bristol. Bus played and sang the country hillbilly blues using a pocket knife to slide the guitar strings and he inspired Ricky's dad, other uncles and cousins to play music - and hence, Ricky was born into this family of music thanks to the roots from Bristol. <br /><br />In the same way Ralph Peer summoned artists to the streets in 1927, Bristol calls its musical children home to the Rhythm & Roots Reunion.
