"Chickie Wah Wah is simply one of the best music venues in New Orleans, which is saying a hell of a lot. Chickie’s talent roster is unique: one of the most inspired, interesting, and plain fun, in the city.
A perfect, intimate space. It is a great-sounding room for groups of any size and persuasion, from acoustic to Ana Popovic.
After a very few years, Chickie Wah Wah has taken its place alongside the Maple Leaf, d.b.a., and Tipitina’s as a classic New Orleans groove haunt.”

Families and their homes in the George A. Whitten Elementary School area in Hendersonville, Tennessee were the hardest-hit during the great flood of 2010 and are still feeling the effects of that event in the tough economy. The Whitten area is a severely under-resourced community and the ratio of families in need is extremely high. Most of the schools in Hendersonville have strong PTO’s and families with ample resources. This is not the case for Whitten. From 10am-2pm, 435 students, along with their families will be able to enjoy a no-holds-barred festival on their school's campus with absolutely zero expense. Their children will be able to participate in every event/activity/meal with absolutely no charge. There will be live musical entertainment that day including Blue Mother Tupelo.
